Alex Teague recently passed his Step 1 medical exam! Congratulations from the entire TBL lab group. Here’s a little bit about what he has been working on: “I am working to predict bone growth in a skeletally immature foal model as a function of the mechanical loads they experience during gait. To date, I developed a reproducible process for quantifying bone morphology which allows me to rigorously evaluate changes during skeletal growth. With this process to quantify growth, I developed preliminary growth prediction models that incorporate mechanical loading distributions through the bone of interest to see how well they predict growth measured at future timepoints. My current work focuses on refining these models with appropriate physiologic underpinnings to evaluate which factors best predict future bone growth.” We look forward to seeing where Alex takes this work!
