Sony Manandhar, who graduated from the lab in December 2021 and dreamed of working for an orthopedics company, has a job working with Zimmer Biomet in Warsaw, Indiana. Words from the double MS degreed woman herself, “I am a Research Engineer in the New Product Introduction team at Zimmer Biomet. In this position, I am involved in designing and driving biomechanical research projects from developing test methods to testing implants to determine the fatigue strength during the verification and validation phase of the project. I am constantly reviewing literature and standards to make sure experimental tests are designed according to the accepted standards and incorporating biomechanical rationales as close to the clinical joint mechanics as possible.”
